NIT Hamirpur was established in 1986 as a Regional Engineering College and later it was upgraded as the Institute of National Importance. The mission of NITH is to inspire students to become responsible citizens and competent professionals with high ethical values and to meet the expectations of technical human resources at the national and international levels. The campus area of NITH is 320 acres and is situated in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh. NITH is the second most beautiful campus in the country including all engineering institutes. The institute has the flexibility to evolve and change in response to requirements of the Industry and happenings in the technical world

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have passed 12th (10+2) with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks with Physics, Mathematics/ Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology.
• For SC/ST students the minimum passing aggregate would be 65% in 12th.
• Candidates must have qualified JEE Mains Exam with a good rank as per the cut off to get a seat here. 

Admission Procedure

• Admissions are done on the basis of rank in JEE (Mains).
• Candidates must have participated in JoSAA Counseling or CSAB Special Round counseling.
• Shortlisted candidates will be further called for Physical or Online Reporting at the allotted college.

Facilities

• The computer centre manages various computing and communication facilities throughout the campus. It aims to provide professional services, promote and assist the use of new computing technology among the students, staff and administration.
• The health center of the Institute provides treatment for different diseases and also provides first aid to the injured.In case of Medical emergency, the Ambulance is available 24*7 for taking patients for the required treatment.
• The Central library is spread in two buildings with a total of above 90000 books and other documents.
• There are eight boys and and four girls hostels which provide good quality food to keep the hostellers fit and healthy and other basic amenities as well.
• A guest house is also built in the campus to make the stay of guests comfortable.
• The labs in the Institute are well maintained and well equipped in each and every department. 
• A post office and a bank along with two ATMs are available in the Institute campus.

The Institute has an Incubation, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Cell (IIEC) to groom technology and knowledge-based entrepreneurship and to provide a platform for speedy commercialization of technologies training and placement(T&P) Cell of NIT Hamirpur is constantly making efforts to make students professional and aware of the technical world.
