About:

Indian institute of information Technology (IIIT) Dharwad was set-up under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model in 2015 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India and Government of Karnataka. It is an Institute of National Importance. The institute is presently functioning from its temporary campus located in IT Park in Hubli and the permanent campus of this college is under construction over 61 acres.

IIIT Dharwad has introduced Data Science and Artificial Intelligence as one of the B.Tech specialisations. The specialization courses will be offered by IIIT Dharwad through Department of Data Science and Intelligent Systems. B.Tech in DSAI will help students to make their career in fields including Data Science, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

Admission Procedure:

• Candidates must have to take JEE Main Examination. 
• Admissions are done on the basic of rank in JEE Main examination through JoSAA Counselling and CSAB special round.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology and Technical vocational subject, any one of these as an optional subject with minimum 75% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates). 
• Candidates with category wise top 20 percentile in his/her respective board examination can also eligible. 

IIIT Dharwad Cutoff:

IIIT Dharwad offers a four-year B.Tech programe at the UG level. Admission to the programe is based on JEE Main rank, followed by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) Counselling and Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) special round counseling. The institute-specific qualifying cut-off is announced after the declaration of JEE Main 2020 result to manage the seat allotment process. The seat allotment process is based on the college cutoff and the candidate’s preference for courses and colleges.

The cut-offs are generally declared in seven rounds of JoSAA Counselling based on opening and closing ranks for each of the programe-specific specializations. In 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic there is only 6 rounds conducted in JoSAA counseling. The last round of JoSSA counseling cut-offs mention below-

As it is one of the newly established IIITs but the placement of this college is very good. However, placements are improving every passing year. Top companies like Wipro, Samsung, IBM and Infosys visiting the college in placement time. Also, a good number of students have interned in Samsung, Deloitte, Intel, etc.

Infrastructure & Campus:

The new campus of this college is constructed this year over 62 acres of land so everything is new on the campus. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled including the hostel. All the facilities and instruments are also available in the labs which are required to complete the course. There are spacious classrooms and an auditorium. The college has a Library, Gym, Indoor and Outdoor sports facilities, Dispensary etc. The college has mess facility also which provides a good quality of food for the students.

Faculty:

All the faculty members here are well qualified and they are from reputed universities like IITs, NITs etc and even outside India. The faculty members are very supportive and helpful and their teaching skills are also excellent. The course curriculum is also good for both theory and practical aspects and gets updated as per modern technologies from time to time. The course curriculum makes students industry-ready and also research-ready.

The students of IIIT Dharwad are eligible for the scholarship scheme as per the rules of the Central Government. The institute also facilitates education loan to the SC/ST and EWS category students.
